Seed cycling is a natural method use do to achieve hormone balance

How to Use Seed Cycling to Balance Hormones

I absolutely love the concept of hormones and the effect they have in our lives. As a holistic esthetician, and from personal experience, I realized a long time ago the incredible need to have balance if you were to heal. My acne when I was growing up was the most frustrating concept. I pride myself on my intelligence and my drive, so when I tried EVERYTHING I educated myself to fix my acne and NOTHING worked, I kinda gave up for awhile. It has taken me years to understand the complexities of balance in the body and how they worked to heal and treat my acne, bringing me to a point in my life where I am proud to bear my natural skin. I want to share all of this knowledge with all of you. Please let me know in the comments if you would like to know more about hormones and how to restore balance naturally.

Hormones: Hormonal imbalances in the skin

Hormonal Imbalance in the Skin & How to Restore Balance

Hormones are incredible, tiny rulers in our bodies. Little overlords we don’t have a lot of control over unless we understand them. Most people are aware of the havoc hormonal imbalance has on our skin during puberty, acne being a well known right of passage. But what about through the rest of life? Adult acne has become just as common and tolerated. I myself once thought “It’s just the way I am, I’ll never be able to get control over my acne.” As a holistic esthetician and someone who has worked to heal acne issues not just in myself but with numerous clients, I will tell you right now, adult acne is not something you have to “just live with.” It begins with understanding & balancing your hormones.

Basic Holistic Bread Recipe

This bread recipe is what I use when I am craving bread but I don’t want to spiral about grocery store brands, extensive ingredient lists, preservatives, inflammatory ingredients, etc. When I got diagnosed with leaky gut and my doc told me to cut out all inflammatory ingredients including soy, gluten, sugar, and dairy, it got really hard to shop for groceries. I’ve always been good at making home cooked recipes but I was always like, “I don’t have a bread maker.” Well guess what. You don’t need one! This recipe only has 5 main ingredients, 6 if you include water. Now I can eat bread again and I don’t feel guilty or awful after I eat it.

Sage and GInger Oxymel Tonic

Sage & Ginger Oxymel Recipe

An oxymel is a tart herbal healing tonic made with vinegar and honey. Traditionally, it is made with more honey than vinegar but this ends up being incredibly sweet so most modern oxymels are made with a 1:1 ratio of honey & vinegar.

This tonic does not simply need to be made of honey and vinegar, we can add herbs to enhance the health benefits! In today’s recipe we are going to use sage & ginger.
