1 double boiler If you don't have a double boiler, you can easily create your own. Use a medium size pot and a bowl that will fit to rest against the rim over the water. The point of a double boiler is to have the contents of the inside bowl or vessel to heat up over boiling water to reduce the chances of burning.
1 stirring rod
1 set of measuring spoons
1 jar with lid
- 4 tsp beeswax
- 6 tbsp coconut oil
- 3 tbsp Shea Butter
- 10 drops tea tree oil
- 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
- 5 drops lavender essential oil
Prepare your double boiler or alternative by filling with water. Bring to a delicate boil. (This just means a soft boil, or a boil in which the water does not splash or spatter outside of the pot.)
Add beeswax, Shea butter, and coconut oil. Melt and combine.
Remove from heat.
Pour immediately into jar.
Let cool for 10 minutes
Add essential oils and combine thoroughly.
Place in the fridge for four hours or in a cool spot overnight to set. The process will be complete when the contents of the jar are a solid white color, the surface will be firm and buttery.
*Please consult with your healthcare provider for babies and only use on 6 months + and ask about dosage for your child.
*Always use quality, pure ingredients - preferably certified organic.
